Collaborate with Ease Using ProModel Enterprise

ProModel Enterprise

ProModel is proud to introduce our cloud-based enterprise application, ProModel Enterprise.  Upload models, create and simulate scenarios, and analyze and share results all from one internet location.  ProModel Enterprise allows you collaboration with members of your organization around the world using ProModel’s simulation technology and incorporates a repository for sharing ProModel, MedModel, ServiceModel, and Process Simulator models.

This web-accessible application can be hosted on premise or in the cloud and serves as a single unifying environment for predictive analytic collaboration across departments.

If you are familiar with ProModel’s technology, this tool allows you to upload models developed in our client-based suite of products and then create and run scenarios on a cloud-based server.  Multiple scenarios can be run simultaneously while the results from all models can be compared and analyzed in the Reports. Easily create report dashboards specific to your business KPIs and share them with others in your organization.

ProModel Enterprise Customization Available
The ProModel Enterprise rich internet application technology has been developed to serve many purposes. We offer customization services to help you create a web application specific to your Process Improvement, Six Sigma or other organizational needs.   ProModel’s technology team can work directly with you to develop a tool that will help you reach your corporate goals.

For example, an animal health organization, in conjunction with ProModel, has created a predictive analytics tool for livestock producers. The tool helps them predict barn and system livestock growth, mortality, and sales volume over time.  It helps achieve an optimal pound per animal as prescribed by the packers they sell to.

Livestock production is a highly variable process due to many factors including, genetics, environment, and disease. Other events, such as vaccine protocols, weather and individual animal care can also have an effect.  This tool incorporates a proprietary growth curve algorithm to help livestock producers mitigate these variables:

  • Marketing weight and weight distribution projections weeks ahead of time
  • Data to optimize animals per sale
  • Scenario analysis capabilities to evaluate animal heath, vaccines, husbandry education, livestock placement, marketing and transportation schedule data
  • An inventory management tool for placement and planning of multiple livestock flows

This is just one example of the customizable nature of ProModel technology for the enterprise.  Contact saleshelp@promodel.com to find out how ProModel Enterprise can help your organization make better decisions – faster.

Product Releases

Process Simulator 2011 SP4 release coming…
This release will be available in November and will contain the following enhancements:

Upload to ProModel Enterprise
ProModel Enterprise is our new cloud-based enterprise application.  Upload Process Simulator models and then create and run scenarios in ProModel Enterprise.  Scenarios are run simultaneously while the results from all models can be compared and analyzed in one central location in Reports. Easily create report dashboards specific to your business KPIs and share them with others. There is nothing to install as ProModel Enterprise is accessed from anywhere through an internet browser. It can be hosted on premise or in the cloud and serves as a single unifying environment for predictive analytic collaboration across the organization.

Control submodel layout at simulation
Previously Process Simulator automatically calculated how many submodels should be placed within a row on the layout. You can now control this by either specifying a boundary up to which submodels can be placed or specifying the number of submodels that can be contained per row.

These new settings are found in the Simulatio Properties dialog.

Flexibility in Attach quantities
We’ve added the ability to enter an attribute for the quantity in an Attach connection. This simplifies the modeling of processes where attach quantities vary from entity to entity.

Improvement in resource requirements analysis
We now allow the number of units specified in a Use request to exceed the total number of units defined for a given resource. This allows you to create scenarios with fewer resources than a task or activity requires, thus effectively extending the overall time a task takes to complete. Compare these with other scenarios of varying resource quantities and analyze the effect on the overall process initiatives.

Compatible with Windows 8
This release has been tested and verified to install and run on the Microsoft Windows 8 operating system.

Plus many fixes to Process Simulator and Output Viewer.

ProModel, MedModel, ServiceModel 2011 SP4 release coming…
This release will be available in November and will contain the following enhancements and fixes:

Upload to ProModel Enterprise
ProModel Enterprise is our new cloud-based enterprise application.  Upload ProModel, MedModel, or ServiceModel models and then create and run scenarios in ProModel Enterprise.  Scenarios are run simultaneously while the results from all models can be compared and analyzed in one central location in Reports. Compare these with other scenarios of varying resource quantities and analyze the effect on the overall process initiatives.

Compatible with Windows 8
This release has been tested and verified to install and run on the Microsoft Windows 8 operating system.

Some of the fixes contained in this release:

  • Trying to create a model package with the Protect Model Data option checked would not work if the Windows UAC was turned on.
  • “Internal Error: Resource type mismatched in simlogic:::Graphic() module. \simlogic.cpp Line 1914” would occur if a static resource (i.e. no path network defined) with three units only had two Layout Positions defined (i.e. Resource Points) and a Graphic statement was called to change the graphic of the third unit.
  • A combination of capturing a resource through a GET, capturing two units of another resource in a USE, and then all resources being preempted for shift carryover could produce a unique situation where a shift carryover would not be fulfilled.
  • A crash could potentially happen in a unique situation where multiple resources were captured through first a GET and then a USE, where some of the resources were preempted away while others were preempted for shift carryover and still other resources were not yet captured.
  • A Microsoft Operating System update for Daylight Saving Time (see Knowledge Base article KB2633952) prevented some models from running in the Silver Runtime version. An error would occur stating that an external file was modified and so the model cannot be simulated.
  • Tanks were still filling and emptying even though they were on a downtime, if the tanks were designated as the Tank_To tank in tank transfer functions.

Enterprise Portfolio Simulator News

Enterprise Portfolio Simulator (EPS) 2012 SP1 to be Released by the End of the Year
The following features have been implemented in EPS 2012 SP1.

Scenario ‘What-ifs’ for Tasks
Scenario ‘What if’ changes can now be specified for individual tasks.  A large selection of task properties can be changed this way: durations, priorities, survival, costs, revenues, attributes, etc.

Concise Condition Syntax
A concise view of conditions, using a new syntax, has been added to facilitate the following improvements:

  • Conditions can now be copy/pasted from one cell to another, or even from MS Project, Excel, or any text source.
  • Conditions can be defined and edited directly in the condition cell without needing to use the condition builder.
  • Start, Finish, and Terminate conditions can all be seen at the same time in a single ‘Conditions’ tab view.
  • The ‘descriptive’ view of any condition can still be seen in the tooltip for a condition cell, or in the visual condition builder in the task’s edit dialog.

A full description of the new syntax can be found in the User Guide.
