| ProModel’s READINESS 2007 Conference
Highlights Client Success Stories
ProModel hosted its first READINESS Conference for the Department of Defense and Manufacturing/Logistics industries on November 13th and 14th at the Microsoft Conference Center in Reston, Virginia. Decision makers within the DOD and Manufacturing/Logistics gathered together for two intense days of interactive workshops and informative presentations that showcased how simulation technology can drastically improve productivity and readiness.
The conference also proved to be a great opportunity for attendees to network, exchange information, and share best practices specific to simulation technology being used in these industries.
Some of the companies and organizations in attendance included:
FORSCOM
Praxair, Inc.
CH2M Hill
TeleCommunication Systems
Center for Army Analysis |
United Space Alliance
Life Scan, Inc. (a J&J Company)
V&M Star
Lehigh Valley Plastics |
From the very beginning, guests were able to get involved in the interactive workshops and model demonstrations, gaining hands-on experience using various ProModel tools. The Strategic Planning Workshop focused on the impact of different demands and capacities on long-term performance and how ProModel’s tools and methodology can empower organizations to confidently and quickly assess this impact to make informed decisions. A Lean & Six Sigma Workshop was also available for those who were interested in learning how simulation can be used to support Lean and Six Sigma programs for improving process performance and quality in any industry.
The conference also provided a chance for decision makers to learn from other professionals who are currently using ProModel tools, and allowed for those clients to showcase how simulation technology has improved their operations. Speakers from various DOD and Manufacturing/Logistics organizations including FORSCOM, United Space Alliance, and Praxair gave presentations highlighting the importance of simulation and the effectiveness of ProModel software. FORSCOM’s presentation demonstrated how the predictive AST (ARFORGEN [Army Force Generation] Synchronization Tool) enables them to plan, analyze and manage army forces and mission requirements to support the Global War on Terror, Homeland Security, Disaster Preparedness, and worldwide contingency operations.
Another key speaker was Julien Granger of Praxair, Inc. who started using ProModel Simulation in Research and Development to help improve Praxair’s cylinder gas business by simulating a complete plant and inventory system. United Space Alliance also illustrated in two presentations how simulation has helped them optimize critical supply chains as well as planning and executing the refurbishment of an existing manufacturing facility to handle a phase out of existing shuttle work and phase in of a new program all while not missing any delivery dates for the current shuttle program.
Overall, the 2007 ProModel Readiness Conference in Reston was a success and a great learning opportunity for all involved. Many in attendance agreed that the conference was highly interactive and informative, as well as useful towards building a business simulator community. ProModel would like to thank all those who attended and helped make the event possible. We look forward to continue providing innovative and unique simulation solutions for you and your organization.
