International News Belge Engenharia, ProModel’s Distributor in Brazil, announces Innovation 2006, its 4th International Simulation Conference from June 19 to 21. This is a great opportunity for customers to network with other industry leaders and discover the newest industry trends. A speaker panel of over 20 industry experts (CVRD, Gerdau, GM, CST, STIHL, Electrolux, Michelin, Eaton, Petrobras, TRW, Ryder Logistics, etc) will demonstrate how simulation is changing the way they do business. With a number of different tracks and training sessions, the conference will be packed with information to help you facilitate change at your company. Please contact Belge at email: innovation2006@belge.com.br Se habla Español: New Simulation Text book with ProModel in Spanish. Professors Eduardo Garcia-Dunna, Heriberto García-Reyes, and Leopoldo E. Cárdenas Barrón at the Monterrey Institute of Technology (ITESM) recently published a new book on Simulation with ProModel. This Spanish-language text is now available. It will meet the needs of many universities in Spain and Latin America, where ProModel is the standard tool for simulation in industry and for academic instruction. A Student version of ProModel will be included. ITESM stands for Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey. Founded in 1943, this private university system is well-known for its engineering programs offered at more than 25 campus facilities around Mexico and for an online university that provides services throughout Latin America. The book covers simulation theory, statistics, and model building in
ProModel. Daniel Villarreal, ProModel representative for Mexico and Central
America, says: “The book will help a good number of universities
that use ProModel as a tool for their Simulation classes, and their Operations
Research classes. It will also help professional engineers looking for
a reference guide covering the methodology of simulation and optimization
techniques.”
SimPlan Modelling from Munich and SQC from Zurich will co-host the event, which will include a mix of product information, practice reports and training courses. On the first day, customers will introduce simulation projects they have carried out. Participants will then have the opportunity to discuss with the experts the latest technology and techniques designed to solve complex problems and profit from the intensive exchange of experience. A tour of Stuttgart and a Swabian dinner will top off the day’s activities. Attendees will be able to deepen their ProModel know-how on the second day, by taking advantage of courses on scheduling with Orchestrate or the Process Simulator plug-in to Microsoft Visio.
