AST (ARFORGEN Synchronization Tool) DELIVERED

On October 13th, AST 1.5 was released.

The Army defines ARFORGEN as “the structured progression of increased unit readiness over time, resulting in recurring periods of availability of trained, ready, and cohesive units prepared for operational deployment in support of civil authorities and combatant commander requirements.”

AST stands for ARFORGEN Synchronization Tool. AST 1.5 combines ProModel’s object oriented simulation engine developed with Microsoft .NET with new interactive reporting modules. AST is a decision support tool focused on aligning future mission requirements with the predicted availability of ready units. In early November, AST 1.5 training was received with fantastic customer feedback.

Product Updates

ProModel, MedModel, and ServiceModel version 7.0.9.227 and 7.0.10.228
Maintenance Releases made available in September and December ’06 include the following changes and fixes:

7.0.10.228

• An entity request for multiple resources using a JOINTLY GET statement was not being fulfilled in a situation where the resources were not initially available but later became available.
• The application was ultimately terminating due to a situation where multiple resources had been requested through a JOINTLY GET statement but not all resources were immediately available to fulfill the request.
• The application was terminating at the start of a simulation run (during translation) when the Text field for a Macro was left blank.
• The events list in the simulation engine was not properly clearing out after each replication which resulted in unnecessary memory accumulation.
• In the Portuguese version of ProModel:
o The word “Desabilitar” was misspelled as “Disabilitar”
o The “Custom Trace Options” window (accessed during simulation) did not have check boxes.

Includes 3DR version 2.0.6.85 containing the following fix:

• In some cases the order of variables listed was different than the order listed in ProModel.

7.0.9.227

• Ending the simulation while the Debug window was open caused the application to crash.
• The string lengths for the Array Import DB Connection and Query string fields have been extended to 1024 and 4096, respectively.

Includes 3DR version 2.0.5.84 containing the following fixes:

• Warmup time was not being properly displayed for a Time Plot State Values chart.
• Time Plot State Values chart was showing a Location’s state as Empty/Idle instead of Waiting while in a JOIN, LOAD, or MOVE WITH state.
• Time Series statistics for Tank Locations were listed and displayed as Simple Values instead of Time-weighted Values.

Process Simulator version 5.0.1.108 and 5.0.2.110
Maintenance Releases made available in October and November ’06 include the following changes and fixes:

5.0.2.110

• In some cases a shift file was inadvertently being modified during model packaging.
• Custom stencils were not being properly created when the Process Simulator stencil was open.
• When the regional settings on a computer were set to use a 24 hour clock, scheduled arrivals could not be created for times above the 12th hour.
• Activities were being listed as valid choices for the FreeUnits function in Logic.
• Improved the warning message that appears when more than one entry point is defined in a submodel.

Includes 3DR version 2.0.6.85 containing the following fixes:

• In a specific case the order of variables listed in the statistics table was not matching the order they were listed in the application.

5.0.1.108

• An entity that was created through a Create route and then later renamed through routing would not attach to its original creator.
• In a specific situation the process diagram graphics were not synchronized with the animating entities during simulation.
• Logic functions pertaining to Activities, Storages, or Buffers when used in sub models were producing simulation errors.

Includes 3DR version 2.0.5.84 containing the following fixes:

• Warmup time was not being properly displayed for a Time Plot State Values chart.
• Time Plot State Values chart was showing an Activity’s state as Empty/Idle instead of Waiting while in an ATTACH state.
