On October 13th, AST 1.5 was released. The Army defines ARFORGEN as “the structured progression of increased unit readiness over time, resulting in recurring periods of availability of trained, ready, and cohesive units prepared for operational deployment in support of civil authorities and combatant commander requirements.” AST stands for ARFORGEN Synchronization Tool. AST 1.5 combines ProModel’s
object oriented simulation engine developed with Microsoft .NET with new
interactive reporting modules. AST is a decision support tool focused
on aligning future mission requirements with the predicted availability
of ready units. In early November, AST 1.5 training was received with
fantastic customer feedback.
