“Passing the Baton”For the past two and a half years it has been my privilege to function as temporary President and CEO of ProModel Corporation. During this period we have become stronger as a company, more advanced in our technology solutions, and more firmly established as the world leader in providing powerful simulation solution tools and unrivaled customer support. At the end of 2005, I suggested to the board that it was time to “pass the baton” on to a new leader who not only intimately understands our business and values our customers, but also who knows the marketplace and how to best serve the needs of an increasingly diverse customer base. To help ProModel make the transition to a more solutions-focused company with even greater emphasis on service excellence, the board has appointed Keith Vadas as the new President and CEO of ProModel. Keith is well qualified to fill this role, having been Executive Vice President for the past three years and having led the vertical business units to the greatest success levels in ProModel history. Keith has been with the company for over fifteen years and has a tremendous understanding of customer needs and how to effectively deploy resources to meet these needs. Though “passing the baton” evokes the image of a relay race, a baton is also used to direct activity such as the baton an orchestra conductor uses to direct an orchestra. I like to think that Keith is taking over as conductor of the ProModel orchestra of professional talent to lead them in the performance of new and exciting symphonies that customers are sure to appreciate. As for me, I will continue in my role as board director and coordinator of technology development—and try not to play any wrong notes.
