I can’t believe another year is almost gone. If you are feeling like me you are totally bewildered at where the time has gone (of course if you’re as old as me you forget what year it is anyway). At ProModel we have been not only “busy” this past year, but have made significant progress in the development of new technologies and services. I’d like to take a few moments to share some of the activities and achievements at ProModel this past year and provide you with a glimpse of some of our exciting plans for the future. As you know we held a successful users conference in Salt Lake City in September with nearly 150 attendees from all parts of the world. The presentations were insightful and educational. We are already making plans for next year’s users conference (for the folks in the Southwest U.S., we’ll try to schedule around any hurricanes). Thanks to those who have provided suggestions on topics, time and location. We welcome you who are new customers to the ProModel family of users and are excited about the growth in the academic use of our products (well over 100 universities use and teach ProModel). For us this is a positive sign that we are doing many things right and getting across the VAO (Visualize, Analyze, Optimize) message. More significantly, it reflects the firm commitment we have to being a solutions-focused company with an eye always towards the customer. I recently returned from the Winter Simulation Conference in Washington, D.C. where I not only had the pleasure of meeting many of you who were there, but also had the opportunity to see what is happening in the simulation industry. There seems to be a greater emphasis on modeling services as many companies and organizations are relying on outside resources to help them with modeling projects. We are fortunate at ProModel to have a team of simulation consultants that are highly trained and capable of understanding customer requirements and delivering high fidelity models that answer critical systems design questions. A noticeable side-effect of our own increased participation in simulation modeling projects is the additional useful feedback it has provided to our developers for improving our products. To enhance the effectiveness of your modeling efforts as well as our own, we have made significant enhancements to our products in 2004 resulting in six product updates in addition to six new major product releases! These releases include added features and improvements to ProModel, MedModel, ServiceModel, Portfolio Simulator, Process Simulator and PM Player. Additionally, we have released two new exciting products: 3D Animator (a powerful 3D graphical plugin for ProModel, MedModel and ServiceModel) and Project Simulator (a plugin to MS Project that accounts for variation and interdependencies in project scheduling). Both of these products have been well received and are direct responses to customer requests. Looking ahead into the future we will be making additional useful improvements to our technology and services including new products for better supporting lean and Six Sigma initiatives. You will see some of our products integrated directly in with lean and Six-Sigma methodologies. We will also continue to focus on ease of modeling and enhanced output analysis to make the decision-making capabilities of simulation much more powerful and focused on actual problem solving. We are anxious as I am sure you are to begin the new year and we look forward to working together with you throughout the coming year. Best wishes for the holidays, Charley Harrell To unsubscribe
